Initiative Münchner Galerien zeitgenößischer Kunst

The Initiative of Contemporary Art Galleries in Munich, founded in 1988, is an association of Munich art galleries whose objective is to promote contemporary and future-oriented trends in art.

The Initiative runs the organisation and edits a joint leaflet/ brochure, coordinates joint evening openings and the planning of other activities, such as joint exhibitions and a joint PR presence, and acts as a dialogue partner for municipal, state and private-commercial cultural agencies.

The Initiative’s members are distinguished by their professional gallery work, as understood by the directives formulated by the Federation of European Art Galleries, FEAGA.
