What meaning does “textile” have in the contemporary production of art and design? TEXTILE MATTERS / TEXTIL GEDACHT will present a singular range of objects at the interface between art and design. Only the combination of artistic, technological and craftsmanship like approach provides a comprehensive meaning: Textile is material, surface, technology, bearer, medium and metaphor at the same time. With contributions from Walter van Beirendonck, Christian Haas, Bart Hess, Chris Kabel, Lightweight, Anette Rose, Julia Schewalie and The Unseen.
The exhibition TEXTILE MATTERS / TEXTIL GEDACHT serves as a platform for a series of accompanying events. The exhibition is curated by art and cultural studies scientist Anna-Cathérine Koch and Designer Arwed Guderian.
